Re-focus

OK....I'm kinda losing the sense of what am I suppose to focus on at this point. I tried really hard to work on the storyboard but somehow it got stuck in the middle of nowhere really bad....Friday is gone and I've achieved basically nothing.....which suck and made me panic!!!!!So, it's probably the timing to write something to organize my chaotic thoughts regardless how much i hate writing.

There are couple messages I want to deliver.
Informative ones:
  • Bipolar disorder is a real illness.
  • There are 20.9 millions(9%) people suffering from it in United State.
  • Bipolar are suffering from cycles of mania and depression.
  • Searching for the right med and right treatment is usually a painful journey for them as well.
Provocative ones:
  • Bipolar have been treated poorly, with unfair stigma and discrimination.
  • It's ignorant to making fun of people's illness or saying it's because they have weaker wills that they have the syndromes.
  • The illness is genetic and strongly related to the chemical imbalance inside the brain.
Eventually I want to achieve:
  1. Boost people's basic understanding about bipolar syndrome
  2. Alleviate the stigma.
  3. Make more people paying more attention on this issue.

Narrative strategies I may consider to adapt:
  • metaphor, visualize the mania/depression
  • high drama?
  • personal experience?
  • info-graphic way?
I've been tracing back to the beginning of this project and have tried really hard to focus on one subject. However this issue itself is tremendously complex.......

What is my animation doing regard the objectives listed above? What strategy am I using?

If I'm aiming at "boosting the basic understanding of bipolar syndrome", is it okay the storyboard to be as general as it is now? What are the other options of giving out the information??

It seems that I have to separate the "intro of bipolar" part and "alleviate the stigma" part into different layer. Which is my main goal?
